Queer Conscience is pleased to present a sneak peak of San Francisco filmmaker Andy Bydalek's "skinnyfat" in advance of it's world premiere at Framline Film Festival in June. Chaz, a tattooed, pierced San Franciscan hipster, is convinced he's overweight when he catches his date feeling his "fat waist." This traumatic event sets him on a plan to lose weight until he has hipbones "sharp enough to trim hedges." The comic romp that ensues creates a hilarious portrait of image-obsessed gay culture and shows what can happen when body-consciousness becomes body fixation. Shown with Brooklyn filmmaker Larry Shea's "The Routine Maintenance Fitness Challenge"

The screening is immediately followed by Andy Bydalek In Conversation with Max Steele, a Brookyln-based performer and writer. Steele writes the experimental porno zine Scorcher, is a contributor to East Village Boys, and has had his writing featured in HX Magazine, Fag School, Birdsong, and at New York's PPOW Gallery.
